About East Quogue, NY:
East Quogue is a hamlet in Suffolk County New York. It was originally settled in 1673 as Fourth Neck. The name was changed in 1858 to Atlanticville and once again in 1891 to its current moniker. The main occupations of the early settlers were farming and fishing, supplemented by woodcutting. The Long Island Rail Road was extended through Atlanticville in the 1880s, bringing summer and winter visitors.
