What Makes a CPO Vehicle Certified?

It Meets Strict Eligibility Requirements

Not just any vehicle will qualify to be Certified Pre-Owned. To even be considered, we must ensure that it meets the following requirements:

• Be less than 6 years old
• Have less than 75,000 miles
• Be serviced according to schedule
• Include a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report

It Passes a 165+ Point Inspection

Performed by our technicians, the vehicle inspection starts with the exterior, making sure the structure and appearance are up to Mercedes-Benz standards. It continues inside with a full review of the finishes, seat belts, flooring and more.

Next, the inner workings of the vehicle are evaluated. Components like the electrical systems, engine, fluids, filters and transmission are thoroughly checked. Our dealers ensure that the tires are Mercedes-Benz approved, and all recall campaigns and standard services are performed before it's ready for the road.

It's Tested on the Road

The best way to judge a vehicle is to drive it yourself. Here at Mercedes-Benz of Southampton, our technicians evaluate the performance of the steering, brakes, suspension, drive shaft and overall ride quality. Coverage You Can Trust for Up to Five Years

Every Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz is backed by the remaining 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Once that expires, the Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty goes into effect, providing an additional 12-months of coverage with unlimited miles. After that, a CPO Extended Limited Warranty is available for one or two years, also with unlimited miles, so you can buy and drive with total confidence.[1]


The CPO Limited Warranty: What's Covered?
Under the Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty any authorize Mercedes-Benz dealer will make the necessary repairs or replacements to correct defects in material or workmanship. Components that are covered include, but are not limited to:

Trip Interruption
If you've broken down more than 100 miles form home, there's no need to worry. Mercedes-Benz will reimburse your travel expenses, up to $300 per day for three days.
